About Me

My name is Sara and I'm a Strategic Communications student at the University of Central Oklahoma. Being the daughter of Army veterans instills in me a great appreciation for heroes, both supernatural and real-life. I highly appreciate undervalued heroes throughout history like Frank J. Wilson and believe they deserve a spotlight for their contributions.

The 5 Ws on the FJWilson Project

Good morning and welcome to my blog! This is my first time ever creating a website and blog, at 23 years old I can't believe I haven't at least attempted this before.

I will be updating the world on anything Frank J. Wilson through this blog and this website dedicated to him. I'm sure you have some questions, so let's start with the very basic ones: the 5 ws (who, what, where, when, and why).

Who: My name is Sara and I'm a student at the University of Central Oklahoma that will use this blog and other tools to honor Frank J. Wilson, an IRS accountant turned Chief of the United States Secret Service Treasury Department. Wilson is most recognized for the final arrest of a well known Chicago mob boss named Al Capone, I'm sure you've heard of him a time or two.

What: I will be writing and creating content such as a website, blog posts, social media posts, and video that shines a light on Mr. Wilson and his contributions to the safety of America and the trail he blazed for accountants and anyone who loves numbers.

Where: The platforms I will be using to share Mr. Wilsons story are a website, an Frank J. Wilson Facebook page, an FJWilson2017 twitter page, and an FJWilson2017 Instagram page.

When: Over the course of the next month I will be updating my website weekly and posting at least 2-3 blog posts per week. I will also be posting to all three social media pages 3 times a day, every day.

Why: This is the final project for my Digital and Social Communication class at UCO. The class was asked to create a website, blog posts, and social media content that honors a historical figure. When it comes to why I chose Frank J. Wilson, our professor told us to choose someone from history we would like to have dinner with, someone we could talk with and never run out of conversation.

Throughout this journey, I hope to learn and share everything I can about Mr. Frank J. Wilson. I've only just begun and I'm already so interested in the life he lived.

If I haven't lost you already, join me along on this journey! Check out my website, subscribe to my blog, and follow the Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages dedicated to Frank J. Wilson! I promise to inform and entertain you with everything I learn along the way!

-Sara
